Mother's Day Tea {Theme Thursday}

The past couple of years I have been hosting a Mother's Day Tea for the mothers in my classroom. I try to keep it simple, but usually my o.c.d. tends to get the best of me. This year, I asked mothers to email pictures of them with their child to me and I put them in a video with some music.

I made some chocolate covered strawberries, Pampered Chef's Kiwi Lime Desserts  and some strawberry lemonade. I bought some sweet tea and bottled waters and cookies for the kids.

Here are a few examples of the work my firsties have been doing this past week.

I'm lucky to have a Mom like you-- card

  7. I'm so sorry but I actually hand drew the petals and typed the "jobs" on clear labels and copied on construction paper. It was pretty simple, but it's not something I can put online for a download version.

    Also- the ladybug template was made via computer, but last year my computer at school got a virus and we had to completely clean it out therefore losing all my files. BOO! All the lady bug is- I typed the saying at the top then inserted a large circle shape in the middle and wrote the message inside. Then printed it and drew the ladybug's head and antlers. To make the wings print out another circle the same size as the body and cut apart and clasp together with a clip. Then I had the kids use black markers to color their fingers and press on the red construction paper. Sorry I couldn't help you ladies out more, but I'm glad you like the idea. :)

  8. I love, love, love your version of the cookbook! We've run out of time to do this for Mother's Day, but I am going to make a Kindergarten Cookbook as one of our end of the year projects.

    Love your blog-

  9. I think I forgot to post my email.
    I LOVE the cookbook idea. It is darling how the students wrote the recipes on their own. Any chance you can e-mail me the template for the cookbook?
    Thank you!
