What I'm LOVING Wednesdays

Seriously ya'll I could sit down and eat a dozen of these and not feel a BIT guilty. I LOVE em! My actual favorite are from Walmart...and OOH EEMM GEE every time I go I so want one. {I do refrain most of the time}

This year for my birthday {40 more days!!}....forget the cupcakes and cake---I'm hinting around for a little something like this-
Who wants a donut now? Ha. Sorry.

This year I moved classrooms and grade levels {KINDERGARTEN HERE I COME!} So I'm loving that my good friend Frog Princess took time out of her precious schedule to come down to help me get my classroom organized. Looks ready right? I'll get there.

I LOVE my new Camelbak Groove! It's a filtered bottle. I can fill it up anywhere with any water and it tastes just like home. I usually spend at least 5-10 minutes of my nightly routine filling up water bottles because I cannot handle the iron taste out of most water fountains. This is simply AMAZING.

I am very picky about my jeans. I have very long legs {48 inches from hip to toe to be exact ---that's 96 inches of leg on my body! Yikes!} Anyway...these jeans come in an extra long which is perfect for me! The style that is perfect for me is called Maddie {they are a little stretchy through the hip and thigh}These are the ONLY jeans I own. I have them in many different variations, but they are the only style that I buy. You can buy them at Buckle.com or the store nearest you!

In the next few weeks one of our {me & the hubster} favorite shows is premiering! Yahoo! We are SUPER excited...I think it would be awesome to have a kick off party with the friends. If that's on your mind too---head on over to Moo Moos & Tutus for her party package she designed for us for our birthday last year. It's FANTABULOUS!
Now since I'm focused on setting up my classroom I have been scouting out Teachers Notebook DAY AND NIGHT for some awesome ideas.
As most of you know from my post last week I'm going to add some pirates to my ocean theme this year. I'm pretty excited about it. Look what Daphne helped me set up last night:
I'm LOVING the new sunglasses the hubster bought me for our anniversary!
Last but certainly NOT least....I am especially LOVING and missing my husband today. He's been out of town since Monday so I couldn't resist to add him to my post today!
Here we are at one of my favorite places--THE LAKE! This is where you'll find me eating donuts and drinking Dr. Pepper after my last...YES LAST class THIS Saturday!

Stay cool my friends and drink PLENTY of water!

Teaching Trends Tuesday

Happy Tuesday, friends!
As I am getting back into school mode, I am having some back to school nightmares!  One of the scariest times for me as a teacher is DISMISSAL!  I fear putting a kinder on the wrong bus, or putting them on the bus when they needed to be in the car line.  I have a dismissal cheat sheet that hangs on the frame of my classroom door.  It has all my students and their normal transportation listed on it.  I clip any notes that come in through our communication notebooks to my cheat sheet, so everything I need is all in one place!  I like having it at the door so I can see it and not forget it as we are leaving the classroom!

During the first few weeks of school (and on days I have a sub) I like to put bus labels on my kinders!  One of my nightmares is that they will not get off the bus in the right spot, especially at the beginning of school.  We have also had problems with them falling asleep on the bus and missing their spot.  So I put a label that includes the address and a phone number for emergencies!

Here is the label I use (it is formatted to fit 2"x4" Avery Shipping Labels) and a FREEBIE for you!  Just click on the picture to download! :)
What are your back to school nightmares?

On a happier note, we have a winner for our Ingles 360 giveaway...

Congrats, Cindy!  We will get in touch with you soon so you can claim your prize!  :)

Making a Year Monday {Welcome to Hollywood}

{Clipart from ThistleGirl Designs}

"Welcome to Hollywood! What's your dream?  Everybody comes here; this is Hollywood, land of dreams.  Some dreams come true, some don't; but keep on dreamin'- this is Hollywood.  Always time to dream, so keep on dreamin'!"  {who knows what movie this quote is from?}

  One of my favorite memories of school when I was little was my third grade teacher, Ms. Hastings, taking pictures of us dressed as movie stars, and putting them on a bulletin board when we learned our multiplication facts!  We got to choose a play outfit, sunglasses, and jewelry, and pose on top of her super cool sports car!

So, ever since then, I thought it would be awesome to have a movie star (Hollywood) theme classroom!  Take a cue from these amazing classrooms...

Classroom Themes Thursday {Pirates}

So for the past 4 years I have had an Ocean theme in my classroom particularly geared toward under the sea and dolphins. We are Mrs. Huskey's Dusky Dolphins. The one reason I picked that was because I was asked to do a project in college and I cannot remember exactly what it was, but I had to come up with a name for our webpage. I racked my brain for like a week and finally my super creative Aunt came up with that. I looked up dusky dolphins and they are the dolphins that are super acrobatic and do awesome tricks so I thought "heck yeah...that's my future class!"
Anyway...so I'm at that stage where I kind of want to change, but then I do not really have that $ magic stuff that doesn't grow on trees $ if you know what I mean. So I'm thinking I may just add to my current theme--and what better than adding pirates right? I've thought about changing my name to something pirate like--does anyone want to contribute any ideas?

I'm curious to know of any other ideas so please feel free to post links for me to see!!
Come take a walk with me through blog land...

Special thanks to Clutter-Free Classroom for their super cute classroom finds!!

What I Love Wednesday!

Since summer started I have been on a health kick.  I get so overwhelmed during the school year, and I feel there is never enough time to eat at school.  I am normally running around getting things ready for during my lunch break.  I am guilty of eating and drinking "junk" to get through the day.  I have spent lots of time looking at my eating habits and changing them.  Did you know that there is 490 calories in Chick-fli-A's chicken salad sandwich?  How about a six inch tuna sub on wheat from Subway-530 calories?!!  I have done well this summer, but with the rush of the beginning of school right around the corner I am trying to prepare for a healthier life style at school.  It is hard because there is always birthday treats and other yummy goodies floating around.
So here are some of my healthy loves that I will take to the classroom with me in August...

I have never been a big water drinker-I prefer Mello Yello. I have let them go and picked up these!  My favorite is Strawberry Kiwi!
I have been watching my calorie intake!  I love the Calorie Count for my phone!  It really opened my eyes and keeps me on track!

Since we teachers are always on the go Special K has great healthy snacks!  I love the protein shakes!

I am also a fan of Special K Cracker Chips! You can have 30 chips for 110 calories! The sea salt are my favorite!

We all know less is more!  So pack your baggies and eat lite and healthy!  I would love to hear what healthy foods you like to have around!
