Happy weekend, everyone! I hope you all have a cool place to be on this hot summer day! I'm chillin' with my sweet tea in the air conditioned house taking a break from playing with a playdough ice cream shop (more info on that later) with my sweet boy! :)
The other day, I stumbled upon a blog with a WEALTH of creative ideas...Mrs. Gilchrist's Class! Cindy, the blog's author, is a first grade teacher, who is so generous with her awesome freebies! You have to go check out her blog! You won't be disappointed, I promise!
Here are just a few of the amazing things you can find at Mrs. Gilchrist's Class...
Absentee Folders
Power Towers {hint: 3-year-olds love this too - try letters or numbers}
Reader's Toolbox
Silly Band Math
Story Map
Thanks for everything you share, Cindy! We wish you the best of luck as the new school year approaches!
So I finally hosted the Milk, Cookies, & Bedtime stories baby shower for my cousin. It was SUPER cute and so much fun. I think this was the most fun I’ve ever had hosting a party…and I just absolutely LOVE baby showers! I’m leaving you with pictures to dream on. We hosted the shower at The Tin Roof Cafe in Sevierville--- FABULOUS little Café and perfect atmosphere for any occasion. Check her blog out here-The Tin Roof Café
I used the book "Goodnight Moon" for everyone to sign as a guestbook.
Isn't she beautiful?
Cookies courtesy of Fuddruckers. These had just popped out of the oven....oh they were delish!
My favorite party designer made all of party stuff. Check out her shop on Etsy-- Moo Moo's & Tutus
Mine was not near as cute as hers...but I have a Milk & Cookies invitation in my shop and this is what it looks like:
Have a FABULOUS Friday my friends!! I don’t know about you, but I’m ready for a big tall glass of iced tea and some floating in the coolest water to be found!!
Is it Wednesday already? Wow...where is the week going? Here's what I'm loving today!
Today, I'm loving the fact that I get to shop for school supplies again YAY!!! I have decided to step it up a few notches with teaching Noah at home with a full-blown preschool curriculum! So, I'm slowly transforming the corners of our home into teaching areas (and keep our home decor in place ~ not an easy task). So, my good ol' friend Target Dollar Spot came through for me again! I got LOTS of goodies for our calendar board, pocket charts, and other cuteness! When I get it done, I will post pics!
This past weekend, I got to have a date night with my hubby to go see the new Transformers movie ~ it was awesome & just as good as the first two!
I love my new favorite scent at Bath & Body Works! I originally bought it because it came in a Sparkle Mist (I can never have enough sparkle :) Then, I loved the scent so much that I went back to get the body lotion!
I love (and am very grateful) to generous moms and teachers who share their creativity & knowledge about teaching preschoolers at home. I have combined many teaching techniques & practices for Noah's curriculum. I am going to title it "Flight School"; learning to fly solo in school! One component I have decided to follow is the Raising Rock Stars Preschool Curriculum created by Carissa at 1+1+1=1.
And finally, I am loving my precious family today! For those of you who have been following my Moo Moo's & Tutus blog, I have decided to take a break from it for a while as I focus on Noah's preschool. I am, however, re-starting our family (& preschool) blog Taking Flight! Come on over and take a look!
It is hard for me to wrap my mind around the fact that it is the last week of July! Where did summer go? As I work in my room this week, one thing that I have been working on is my word wall. I use my word wall everyday! It is an amazing teaching tool! So I went looking for some awesome classroom word walls and this is what I found-
Cute way to use an alphabet line! I love the classroom names with the pictures! Great for kinders!
Summer is a busy time of year! There are so many birthday parties, showers, and weddings to attend in the summer! I love a good party! My niece recently turned 7 years old. For her birthday she wanted to have a tea party with her besties and their favorite dolls.
Frog Princess Daphne designed the invitation and banner for the party! She is very talented! We had the party at the Tin Roof Cafe! The food was fabulous and the atmosphere was perfect! The cafe served the girls turkey and cheese sandwiches, chips, and apple slices. They picked their drink and then sipped it from their tea cups!
Here is the set up of the party! Simple and cute!
The SUPER Cute Tea Pot Cake!
I hope to add more pictures tomorrow of the girls enjoying the party (wanted to check with their mommies first)!
Hello, all you rockin' teachers! I'm here again with another cool theme you could do in your classrooms this year! Grab your guitars and pull out the microphones as you help your students feel like the rock stars they are!
Here's a little background music to get you in the mood for rock!
