Shout Outs {End of the School Year}

It always seems that school flies by when we get back from Christmas break. So here we are with 9 days of school left and looking for all those cute ideas for the end of the school year.

Check out this cute autograph book that I found over at Diary of a First Grade Teacher . TOO CUTE!
Click on the image to download your copy!
I wanted to share some of the awards that I give my firsties at our end of the year recognition program.

Here is a picture of one of the girls who won the hula award, but in order to get it---they must show us their best dance moves. You can also see the little buckets I give to the students at the end of the year in the background. This pictures are from last year and I was not really thinking "blogging" when taking these last year. My apologizes.

Thanks to Frog Princess Daphne, she gave me the fabulous idea of doing a luau theme at the end of the year and it has always stuck with me because I'm beach theme and having a luau at the end of the year just seems to fit well! Here is what is inside the kids sand buckets that I give them along with their awards at their recognition (only after they have earned it by singing their cute songs and dancing) I also include a copy of the end of the year DVD that we watch. SO CUTE!
At the end of the program and awards ceremony, I show the end of the year video that I have created to the classroom and their families and then we get to eat hot dogs and just enjoy spending the last few minutes with each other. This is usually our last day of school and it is nice to be able to spend that time together. Last year I had these super cute dolphin cookies made for my sweeties and I'm planning on doing it again this year.

Enjoy the last few days friends....they are going to FLY by!

Summer Fun {What I Love Wednesdays}

So I just hosted aThirty One Gifts party on Monday night so I've got that on my brain! I've got to come up with around $100.00 worth of products that I want and 4 half price items!! OUCH---this is going to hurt my wallet, but look so good this summer! Here are some things I've got my eye on-

 This one is called the Organizing Utility Tote
I've got one of these for personal uses, but I so need one for school! These bags are A*MAZ*ING! They would make perfect baby bags!

This bag is called the Large Utility Tote.
I use this to store things in the back of my car, or to carry casserole dishes in when I'm attending family or church functions. I also have one for Christmas time that I LOVE!! It's great for carrying gifts in!

This bag is called: Thermal Market Tote
Our family spends most weekends out at the lake. This bag would be awesome for me to carry our towels, drinks and snack in while keeping them all cool at the same time. I'm really LOVING this bag.

Cosmetic Bag & Large Zipper Pouch
This bag is fabulous! I take it everywhere when I travel and it holds A LOT! I also got the matching Large Zipper Pouch to carry other toiletries in as well. I'm thinking about getting another one in this pattern.

XXL Everyday Tote:
Last night I wanted to see just how many beach towels I could fit into this bag---grand total: 6! Plus there was plenty of room left over for more things! This is going home with me!! Oh yes!

Hang Up Home Organizer:
This already has a space at my house. It's just WAY too cute to pass up.

Organizing Shoulder Bag:
I always try to find some of the cutest shoulder bags to take with me on shopping trips, or just something quick and easy and this would be prefect! It's totally cute too!

Organize!!
I wish I could buy all of thee above.....wow. SUPER Cute!

So okay, how many of you ladies are heading over to Thirty One Gifts to place an order  now??

Tattle Tuesdays {Funny Story}

Just a quick funny story to hopefully make you laugh today...  During my first year of teaching, we were still taking naps in Kindergarten...thank goodness that policy was changed!  My kids were supposed to bring beach towels to take naps on...can we say NOT COMFY?  Anyway, one day, one of my girls (we'll just call her R) woke up, I heard her say in a rather loud voice, "Um, Mrs. Jackson, I'm just not, I'm NOT!!!"  I began to question her as to what she was NOT going to do.  R said, "I'm just NOT going to be friends with somebody like that!!!"  I said, "A friend like what?"  She said,"I'm not going to be friends with somebody that would POUR WATER ON ME!!!"  As I investigated the situation further, I realized that she had wet her pants during her nap and she was CONVINCED that someone had poured water on her. I gently took her aside and said, "R, I think you may have pee-peed in your undies while you were sleeping, but it's OK, NO BIG DEAL!"  She looked at me like I was from another planet & said, "NOOOOO, Mrs. Jackson, I didn't do that...somebody poured water on me and I'm not going to be friends with them ANYMORE!!!"  I persuaded her to go to the bathroom & change her pants, but as she walked down the hallway, I could hear her saying over and over, "Why would somebody do this to me?...I just can't be friends with them, I can't!"

So, to this day (she'll be entering 8th grade in the fall...yes, I feel old),  I'm sure she believes that someone (a friend, no less) poured water on her during her nap in Kindergarten!

Mother's Day Tea {Theme Thursday}

The past couple of years I have been hosting a Mother's Day Tea for the mothers in my classroom. I try to keep it simple, but usually my o.c.d. tends to get the best of me. This year, I asked mothers to email pictures of them with their child to me and I put them in a video with some music.

I made some chocolate covered strawberries, Pampered Chef's Kiwi Lime Desserts  and some strawberry lemonade. I bought some sweet tea and bottled waters and cookies for the kids.

Here are a few examples of the work my firsties have been doing this past week.

FREE Mother's Day Printables

Well, hey Friends!  We're back from Spring Break and we missed you all so much!  Mother's Day is this Sunday ~ wow, where did April go?  Anyway, I wanted to offer you some free Mother's Day circle tags that I made last year in case you need to dress up student gifts or gifts from your own children.  If you decide to have a Mother's Day Tea or Brunch, you can use these tags to fancy up gifts, cupcakes, cookies, napkins, place cards, menu cards, and much more!

We're using Google Docs for our free downloads now because we have had some trouble with the other host sites.  To download, after you click the image below, click "file," and then "download."  Then, all you have to do is save the file to your computer ~ easy peasy!

Enjoy!!! :)
