Classroom Theme Thursday {Frogs} & A Freebie

For our first Classroom Theme Thursday, I thought I would choose a theme that's near and dear to my heart...FROGS!!!  I used this theme for the 7 years that I taught and I loved it!  Have fun hopping through these cute froggy rooms!

And...here is a classroom tour from my old room!  My kiddos gathered at the Pond for group time.  I made the rug from a large canvas I bought at Lowe's.  I cut out the pond shape and pained it blue with green lily pads (for each child's spot).  Then, I had it bound on the edges at a carpet store.  I loved it!

In my Kindergarten class, I used FROG Notebooks (Fully Responsible, Organized, & Growing) for my students to help keep all their papers organized to & from school.

Here is the cover.  Do you want your own copy?  It is a PDF file with 2 formatted text boxes to insert the student's name and your classroom information.

Download HERE.
***Update: For those of you who were unable to download this free cover at first, please try again...the link has been corrected!

To insert text, open the file in Adobe Acrobat and click where the name and info goes.  Just type and print!

Do you have a frog theme in your classroom?  If you do, please comment and add a link to your classroom pictures!  We would love to see them!

What I'm Loving Wednesday

At the end of this school year, the kindergarten teachers got together to spend some money on technology for our classrooms.  We are blessed in our school because everyone has some form of an interactive board.  We went looking for software to that we could use with our boards.  Well what we bought is awesome!  Not only can we us it on with the interactive boards, but it is also great to put on student computers in the classroom for learning stations.
Lakeshore has these awesome interactive programs available!  We all bought different ones and then shared them!  They are super cute-Check them out

Trends in Teaching {Summertime... Playtime or Work time?}

So I don't know about you but I am so LOVING my summer! This is the first year in all 4 years of teaching that I have not actually had to work every day during the summer and it OH SO Amazing! However, I am doing a little babysitting, helping at the Mother's Day Out at my church, and finishing up my Ed.S. so I'm pretty busy, but I also have LOTS of free time! :)

Like many of you teachers, we are always looking for other things to either make extra money or just to "de-stress" so I have found mine and it just so happens to do BOTH! I am pleased to announce the opening of ....wait for it...... Savvy Chic Designs!! This is your new place to go to find all your needs for invitations, announcements, photo cards and stationary! Keep in mind that we just opened this up last night so please check back often for more additions!

Here is a sample of something we have in our shop for the 4th of July. So if you're planning that BBQ...head on over and check it out!!

REMEMBER: Savvy Chic Designs for all your invitation, announcement, and photo card needs!

Making a Year Monday {Door Decor}

Hello, beautiful people!  The FBU Girls had a fun night out last week!  We enjoyed a delicious meal at Chili's and then went to see the new movie, "Jumping the Broom" (hilarious, by the way)!
BUT, while we ate, we did take care of a little blogging "bid-nus"!  We have finally settled on a new blog schedule!  We hope you like it...

  • Making a Year Mondays: ideas for the starting the new school year
  • Trends in Teaching Tuesdays
  • What I Love Wednesdays
  • Classroom Theme Thursdays: LOTS of ideas for decorating your classroom with a fun theme
  • Fiesta Fridays: creative party ideas
  • Shout Out Saturdays: blog features
  • Of course, we'll still be offering freebies, letting you know about special reader discounts for printable units, and having fun monthly giveaways!
So, let's get started with today's "Making a Year Monday," with fun classroom door decor!  In my school, decorating our classroom door was not allowed, due to the fire code.  But, I always love seeing how creative some teachers get with their doors.  Take a look at a few ways you could decorate your door for the beginning of school!

Father's Day Printables

I posted on my Moo Moo's & Tutus blog today about a new printable collection available in my shop, SUPER DAD!  So, if you missed it, here it is...
Just in time for Father's Day, I would like to introduce my "Super Dad" printable collection!  Show the Dad in your life that he is SUPER with printable cupcake toppers, a fill-in menu, fill-in food labels (both tent and flat), and a banner!  How fun would it be to make your husband a Super Breakfast or Super Supper for Father's Day? :)

I designed this collection a while ago & used it on Valentine's Day for my husband, but decided to change it up a little for Father's Day!

Here are the files you can get in this collection!

The menu, flat food tags, and tent food tags are all pre-programmed with a text box so all you have to do is click on the white space and start typing your text!  The matching fonts and colors are all ready to go!

The collection is only $10, but for my introductory sale, I want to offer my blog readers 15% off by entering the coupon code SUPER15 when you check out!   So, that makes the price $8.50.  This discount will be available until Friday, June 10th.
